Our little prepper group has a couple of special forces soldiers in it. Great guys, nice families, full of awesome knowledge. They had a brief today that talked about how patriot and constitution group are growing in numbers and that it was forbidden to be associated with any such group(s). This included a specific mention of Oath keepers.
The penalty ranged from loss of security clearance to prison time.
While I'm basically overwhelmed at work I just had to pause and mention this. The guys in our group are worried, they aren't doing anything wrong and yet can be punished for it. Sounds like S.O.P. for the military chain of command. God forbid some people want to get together and help each other out in case someone loses a job, had a forest fire, a family emergency, etc.
So instead we are having a BBQ on Sunday, not a preparedness meeting.
And if the conversation at the BBQ turns to what one person or another is doing to be prepared ...

There is that.
DeleteSay it ain't so. Sounds like the military is starting to prepare for something. Nice to hear they are at least sharing this with some others.
ReplyDeleteIt's very true. While there have always been briefing about hate groups, off limits bars, etc. this was a first. I can only thank SPLC for this kind of think.
DeleteEnjoy the bbq and just make sure you don't use the word preparedness and all will be fine! It's amazing that everyday I hear the commercials on the radio for "have a plan, make a kit" yet our military isn't supposed to participate?
ReplyDeletehave a plan, make a kit, be obedient...
