That and some kitten food when we are there will hopefully get them to survive the winter. But if they start breeding, it's going to be cat soup.Maxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04551818740965932334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1648644785345075469.post-20636373629836323292015-09-07T01:27:48.546-07:002015-09-07T01:27:48.546-07:00I build mine a straw house every winter, in a shel...I build mine a straw house every winter, in a sheltered spot by the edge of the covered porch. One bale thickeness on top and sides, a thick straw floor, and just enough of an entry way to squeeze through. It gets a lot colder in the mountains here than it does down in South Georgia, where cats get by perfectly well without precautions. We get to around ten below zero now, I imagine you get a lot colder out there in your area.Harry Flashmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05071021900005041592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1648644785345075469.post-83947901538379939602015-09-05T23:15:59.370-07:002015-09-05T23:15:59.370-07:00i will mention that someone did this and peeked in...i will mention that someone did this and peeked in to see if the cats were enjoying it. it was full of hibernating possums!deb harveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05110992898072146282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1648644785345075469.post-66321640806569229082015-09-05T17:54:19.138-07:002015-09-05T17:54:19.138-07:00We used to have a dog crate that we put blankets i...We used to have a dog crate that we put blankets in or old down coats for our cats and then draped a big blanket over the whole thing. My cats barn dwelling and outdoors end up in weirdest areas. I've never had one freeze to death but also never had one use cat house of any kind my children have build plenty for them. Never lived in. Possibly add couple handfuls of straw to top of wood pile in the middle area. They'll spread it to their liking if they want it. Yes it does get really cold here all winter. Below freezing for long periods. Lisa Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15648485087571625919noreply@blogger.com
